JYC Update 1, Pages 3, 4 & 5

Happy New Year everyone, I am finally back with some of my JYC pages but I am promising to only post 3 pages at a time so you dont get too overwhelmed :)

Pg 3 - Christmas Cards

I love giving and recieving cards so this was a really good prompt for me.

Page 5 - Counting Down

Thats it for now.  I have been terrible about blogging during this project but at least I have managed to get the pages up to date most of the time.

Happy New Year 2011

Day 2 & more...

I am happy to say that I am still up to date with my JYC prompts but as I said yesterday I am going to be posting my days a day late so that I can get a decent picture!

I put a ruler on the table in my back garden and it howed almost 11 inches of snow and the other picture is my journalling from Day 2!

This is my back page from Day 2, my journalling about the piccies, my favourite picture of my girlies from yesterday as they were so happy to get a day off school and to be able to go outside and make snow angels.
The last picture is of my clear envelope I stuck on this page because I couldn't decide which pictures to include and so I popped 8 little pictures in the envelope and made notes on the back of each picture saying what they are about!  The top picture is of my niece in her snowsuit making her very own snow suit :)

and more.................

I  am very particular about my Christmas trees and so they are all colour co-ordinated and I am the only one who is allowed to decorate them (even if I do let the girls put decs on them I only end up moving them later!) , so today my hubby and I bought the girls there own trees for their bedrooms, which they spent a great deal of time decorating them (and I wasn't allowed to interfere at alll!)

Dena decorating her white tree in red and gold, then the finished item in her bedroom

Kira decorating her pink tree with blue and pink, then the finished item in her very pink bedroom!
All in all I'm feeling very festive at the moment and will be back tomorrow with my Day 3 layouts.

JYC Day 1 - My Promise

I am looking out of my window as we are surrounded by white and feeling so excited about Christmas as I have spent the evening on my first JYC page.
I have changed it several times and ended up going back to what I started with and I am now feeling quite happy with it.
This is what My Promise says as my picture is not very clear...

Starting today, December First, I will keep a Christmas Journal. In it, I will write something every day to reflect on the Christmases of my past, enjoy the Christmas of the present and dream about the Christmases of the future.

To some, this would be a stack of papers and trivial scribbles, but not to me. I am taking back my Christmas, I am letting it be something I relish and most importantly I am giving at least fifteen minutes to myself, every day, no matter how crazy this season becomes.

I will make something with my own hands, my own words and my own memories.

I will take this time to be thankful for the special people we are sharing this season with and to use this Journal to remind me of all the things I love about Christmases Past, Present & Future.

I will use this journal to enjoy the different aspects of this Christmas as my children are getting older now (9 & 10) and the newest edition to the family (my niece) joins us all for her first Christmas

I will do my best to complete at least one page a day from December First until January Sixth.

This is my promise I make today.

Those of you who have done JYC will recognise some of the words from last years manifestos but having read previous manifestos over the last few weeks I have fallen in love with the words and they seem to encompass everything I am feeling about Christmas and JYC, so that is why they have ended up on my page!

At the moment I am doing a front and back page for each days prompt but I make no 'promises' on how long that will last!
If you can't read my journalling I have taken a more close up piccie for you.....

I can't wait for day 2 already, hopefully it will inspire me immediately if not I will be sat here late again tomorrow night!
I do think it actually took me longer to take pictures of my pages that you could actually read than it did to make them! :)

While I am here I must share just a few piccies of the weather here at the moment which although beautiful is making life quite difficuly at the moment, especially for my poor hubby who works 55 miles from home!

My back garden earlier this evening.
Out the front of my house.
Ben thought he'd like to go out and then changed his mind!
My pond, poor fish!
My back garden just now!
Looks like it might be a snow day tomorrow, which means extra work for me as a childminder (and less time for JYC!)

In case you can't tell I love Christmas trees & gold at Christmas! The rest of the decorations will have to wait until the weekend but I'm getting very excited now! JYC tomorrow, yay:)

What a festive day was had by all....

I just had to pop in and share my lovely day with you, it was spent with 2 of my favourite people Rachel & Carrie craft shopping at 2 different garden centres and getting completley overloaded with Christmas excitment by looking at all the decorations displayed so beautifully.

In case you didn't know Gold is my favourite Christmas colour so I just loved this display:)

I bought quite a lot of Xmas stash today ready for JYC starting in 2 days, yay can't wait now!

I love my little craft bag!

We had a lovely day and did get a bit silly towards the end much to the disgust of other people walking by!

We did get some funny looks but we didn't seem to care!

I also couldn't resist buying some more decorations ready to put up at the weekend....

Thank you Carrie & Rachel for a great day and I cant't wait for our JYC crop on Monday.

A quick blog tonight...

Hi all, just a quick update tonight.  I'm getting really excited about JYC now and can't wait for December 1st...I have cut some more papers to fit in my album, prepared some embellishments, made some background papers which I will share at another time and collected all my Christmas stash together.

My main reason for blogging tonight is to share these little guys with you......because my girls have unusual names we find it very difficult to find things which are personalised so when my hubby saw these gorgeous blue nose bears tree decorations (which I collect) he came home with ones with short names on with the suggestion that I scrape off and add the names myself.  I'm really happy with how they turned out, my girls love them and I can't wait to hang them on my tree.

That's it for now.

Our crop and my terrible blogging!!!!

On Monday we had a crop at my house which was a lot of fun and I actually managed to complete 2 L/O whilst also chatting and doing juice and snack runs for the various children we had between us (mainly breadsticks!)
I was joined for my crop by my sister and my favorite cousin.  Whilst we were chatting I was reminded of how long it's been since I did any blogging so here I am....

We have another crop planned for next Monday which going to focus on JYC prep which we are all taking part in this year, this will be mine and Carries (sis) first year and at least Rachels(cuz) 3rd year doing JYC so it is all very exciting.  I have spent the last few days sorting through my stash and I'm sure I will blog some more about that soon

Back soon - I promise x

I had finished this page about D's new telescope last night all except the journalling and then it's taken me all day to find a pen that would write on the silver paper!

Even now I'm still not happy with how clear the writing has come out but at least its finished!
